Surrounded by the Palatinate Forrest and walls, closed with an iron door. The vineyard Annaberg remembers on a Burgundy “Clos”. Sandy soil mixed with chalk and a cool climate characterize the Riesling.
Vineyard work:
Buckwheat, radish and clover aerate the soil and attract useful animals. Horse dung fertilizes the soil naturally. We take off leaves selectivly and work with low yields.
Vinification:
Hand harvested and whole-cluster pressed. Wild yeast fermented and aged 10 months on the lees in stainless steel and big wooden casks. No filtration. No fining and minimal sulphur at bottling.
Characteristic:
Elegant, mineralic – spicy Riesling.
